Harrow Cycle Hub and Cycling Projects ran a free inclusive cycling event on 13-14 August at Bannister Sports Centre in Harrow Weald, sponsored by BrickMortar Property Specialists. The event attracted over 100 people, including The Mayor of Harrow and local councillors. Participants could try out a range of specially adapted bikes which enable those with disabilities and their helpers to exercise beyond their homes. 23 volunteers, as well as 3 staff from Cycling Projects, supported participants and helped them choose the right cycles.
Feedback from participants and carers was extremely positive, with over 85% saying that they would like to come back at least once a week, and there is an intention to develop plans for regular events.
Comments included:
‘It was great to be able to bring my uncle out for some exercise’
‘It was good to have fun in the open air with a friend – in a place where it is safe for him to cycle’
‘The staff were brilliant’
‘When will the next sessions be happening?’

The event was sponsored by BrickMortar Property Specialists of Pinner and Ruislip Manor.
